This team as it exists right now is 7-9ish.
We've got 6 Pro Bowlers entering the primes of their careers. But we can't expect them to hang around forever. One by one they're going to get old and feeble, and that decline will start very soon for some of them.
And what are we doing to supplement that inevitable future? Building a team around a franchise QB? No? How about stockpiling draft picks? No? Being smart with our free agent dollars? No?
How about using the 1.1 pick to remain stagnant at a position that nobody gives a shit about if you don't have a real QB?
Oh yes, we're doing that. Tread water. That's how you build up. No decline and disease to be found in that strategy whatsoever.
