We cut Clements, and brought in Carlos Rogers, who was GARBAGE with the redskins. Correct? Hi Sean Smith.
We signed Donte Whitner who was not even a thought at bringing back to Buffalo. Hi Dunta Robinson.
Our front 7 was okay, but people were FLABBERGASTED that we resigned Ray Mc to a 5 year 25 million dollar deal, and people were scared crapless that we just let aubryo franklin leave, because well, Isaac Soap was just mediocre.
See if this rings a bell. In 2010 we never blitzed. We were a base cover 4 team that rarely got pressure and our secondary got torched. How closely does that ring true about the chiefs last year?
The 49ers then brought in an attacking style defense with Vic Fangio, and WOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN, OUR DEFENSE DIDNT SUCK, even though, when you factor in that all we did to the defense really was make lateral moves with rogers, and whitner, and drafted aldon smith. Thats it.
I stated this too, that the new guy you brought in, is fundamentally different that crennel, and that pressure bursts pipes. You guys are going to unleash hali, and houston, and its going to improve your defense.
Thats what I mean.....The 49ers defense, that inserted also an unknown in Bowman, whitner and rogers, was helped tremendously by our pass rush.
Same will happen for the chiefs......I believe anyways.
