Outdoor ballparks like Minnesota and Milwaukee are still getting SNOW in April and sometimes early May, and the temperature often drops below freezing in that time. Baseball isn't football. It makes no sense why they have to play at the beginning of April.
I think baseball has to many games in it also, they could shave a month of games off the schedule. But as old dog showed the salary's of the players are so high they need all those games to help pay for them now.
In baseball if you go two months being bad you can still make the playoffs. In the NFL your season is done.
