Agreed. Shopping in certain stores is boosted by customers knowing fat people aren't able to wear the same clothing. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this (just walk around the Meatpacking one Saturday afternoon)
Saying it publicly probably isn't a great move but I doubt it really hurts them either.
