The Chiefs defense should be absolutely ferocious this season.
I liked Belcher as a player, but Nico Johnson is a big upgrade to him as a natural Mike linebacker. Combine with Hali, Johnson and Houston, the Chiefs should have the best linebacking corps in the entire NFL. They'll tear shit up this next season if the offense has any degree of ball control (and with that offensive line, Charles, Bowe, Fasano and A. Smith, there is no reason to believe that they won't).
Sean Smith is not being asked to be the #1 guy and should prove to be a solid #2 opposite of Flowers.
DeVito is an upgrade to Dorsey and Poe was getting better every game by the end of the season. Jackson is playing for his future in the NFL and should be much better suited to a one-gap defense than the two gap read/react of Crennel, as should Bailey.
Special teams should be terrific if they can get a good return game out of Wylie (or whoever emerges in that role, though Wylie should be the guy based on his college production in that role and his speed).
This is the real team that should be the true Dark Horse playoff team in 2013 that many pundits predicted last season.
