Once he got coached by Reid, he looked drastically better. His first year starting in 2010 was incredible for his standards. He completed over 60% of his passes, only threw 6 INT's and had a 100 QBR.

Then in 2011 he kept his completion % to 60%, threw even more yards and exceled to a better passing QB than he ever was in Atlanta.

Then last year, even with the OL trouble, he threw a lot more yards. He was on pace to have almost 3,800 passing yards. Yes that's right. You read that right.
All of this was with Vick throwing 30 or more passes on average.

Now to look at Alex Smith. The last 2 years, Alex Smith was 9-3 when he threw the ball 30 times a game with 14 TD's to 7 INT's (3 INT's were in one game).

Last year Alex Smith was on pace to throw 24 TD's and have around 3,300 passing yards in Harbaugh's conservative offense.

According to the stats, it's not out of the question that Alex Smith has a good year. I think it's definitely possible for him to throw 25 TD's and 3,400 yards in this more aggressive offense.

This post doesn't bode well for me to build any confidence for Alex Smith under Andy Reid offense. Mike Vick was injury prone and prone to fumble, I don't expect the fumbles from Alex Smith but he is injury prone and no argument can change that thought he is going be healthy all season even.

I thought Mike Vick played like shit for the most part when I saw him play. The fans were getting tired of his QBing play. It was good for Andy Reid to be able to switch quarterbacks but he didn't have much choice.

Maybe we will have a better O-line this year and that helps Alex stay on his feet if he gets rid of the ball in a timely manner and on target? That is the only thing that can help Alex Smith survive.
