Non profits are a big ruse, the last big company I worked for had a United Way spokesman actually expect us to feel sympathy for a teenage mother of two that worked at McDonalds and, golly gee, "just can't do it alone, bless her heart, but with your help she can overcome the unexpected pitfalls life sent her way".
IMO that's worse than giving free money to a drug addict alcoholic working at Mickey D's that "just can't do it alone, bless his heart." at least that charity case hasn't made any future charity cases.
