A hitting coach should be able to tell you how to deliver the barrel of the bat to the ball based upon the pitch and situation.
Maybe that's this organization's problem. You're aiming for mediocrity (slap hitting to the opposite field) the same way the Chiefs aim for it. Teach the players how to drive the ball with authority.
A hard hit line drive caught by the LF is a better at bat than a dying quail that drops in no man's land, even if the outcome is worse.
