Sure, there's going to be some adjustment...who cares? These guys are going to do nothing more than eat, drink and sleep football for 3 months before the season starts. It's their goddamn jobs. If they haven't grasped the 'mental nuance' of playing defensive line, they're either lazy or dumb as a goddamn hammer.
This isn't a QB learning a new system or even a MLB trying to call out zones, etc. It's the D-Line. They'd better have it figured out.

I wouldn't call them the same thing. More like teaching a QB how to throw the ball differently. You're teaching these guys to play a completely different position. They'll have to learn how to play in 4-3 alignments as well as 3-4, which is an unusual piece of the Ryan defense. Poe especially is going to have a very challenging role (Jackson has played some 4-3 at LSU, Powe will likely be a 1-technique 4-3 nose tackle which will be fairly similar, and DeVito already knows how to do it). These guys will probably need to learn to be traditional pass rushers, something that Romeo's defense didn't allow them to do.
I think it will take some time.
