The price point seems to be poor market research to me. However, why would you place so many restrictions on game usage and require constant monitoring through the internet?
Surely someone in Redmond had to have enough common sense to say, "Fellas, people are going to be right pissed off about this."
Microsoft's initial plan (I'm sure they'll call an audible at some point) is Earth-shatteringly stupid. It looks to me like they are telling a large portion of their consumers to **** themselves.
