Shingles come from a trace amount of the virus in your system that lays dormant around your spinal cord but they don't know a whole lot about what triggers it... Possible stress is a theory.
Full blown adult chicken pox is really bad I heard...

just FYI, sunlight can trigger it as well. being at the beach probably isn't the best thing for you right now. Even though it's already manifested, it could still get worse (larger)
