What made the rivalry with Missouri so intense was not the quality of the games, rather it was the events beyond the basketball court (rooted back in the burning of Lawrence, the Jayhawkers, etc) that kindled the intensity and at times, hatred, between the 100+ year rivals.
ISU and KU have absolutely nothing in their histories that will lead to this type of rivalry. Unless you want to count the legendary story of your fat, angry booster charging Self as a rivalry igniting tragedy.
