No the taste isn't all that subjective. There is a lot more consensus here than you realize. Not to many gourmet chefs, or serious cooks who curl their lips in disdain when you mention a microwave. It's like eating canned food. That's probably what you eat.

But a mw is great for cleaning a dish cloth.
