Hamilton through 2017 and it's backloaded. The final year is worth a staggering $32 million. Which means that in 2018, the LA Angels will have shed a $32 million payroll obligation from the year before.

Folks - the bidding on Mike Trout starts at $32/million because the Angels clearly worked that into their salary structure. You really think the Cardinals are going to be able to beat that?
Yup. There is 0 chance that the Cardinals ever sniff Trout unless there is a Joe Horn situation in that locker room, or if Moreno ends up in financial straits like McCourt (and fat chance of that).
