A starting pitcher this year carries obvious present-day value for the Cardinals.
For a two month rental I'd want a 4 WAR pitcher. Santana is looking like a 2.5 WAR pitcher this year.
I'd also rather have Jorge De La Rosa, a LHP with similar peripherals, but more a few more control issues, and there's no way I'd give up Wong for him.
I might toss you Carson Kelly and another projectable arm, but Santana just isn't that damned good.

I was listening to KC radio on the way home from work this week and the Radio guys and the callers were thinking that Santana is a possible #1 or defintely a #2 on any staff.
I just dont see it. I'd rather have Waino, Miller, Lynn, Martinez, Wacha than him. He doesn't even start for us in 2014.
