Here's a little sumptin about Thomas Edison:
1887 - Edison conducts demonstration in West Orange, New Jersey, in which he kills large numbers of cats and dogs by luring the animals onto a metal plate wired to a 1,000 volt AC generator. The press describes these proceedings in detail.
Thomas Edison, along with one of his researchers, Harold Brown, were pretty much responsible for the use of the electric chair in prisons. In fact, Harold Brown was the inventor of the electric chair. Thomas Edison's initial purpose for his experiments was to tarnish and curtail the use of AC power as dangerous...as opposed to his DC power.
