For a while some KU fans acted like KU football was OU in it's prime.

Oh, I know. There are always some idiots in every fan base. But you gotta admit that team was pretty darn good there for a couple years (2007-2008). Sure, they weren't elite like Alabama, Oklahoma, etc. I was not one of those who relished being #2 and possibly going to a national championship game if they beat MU in 2007. I knew that team didn't belong with the elite. But I did defend that they were a very good team that year. And yes, I believe they belonged in the running for a BCS bowl due to the fact that they only lost 1 game that year and I defended that selection to all the MU homers.
Turner Gill really did a number on this program after Mangino left. He was the Herman Edwards of college football.
I don't know if Weis is the answer, but I like his style. He has brought in some very good coaches and is getting decent recruits, especially for a school that only won 1 game last year. In other words, I feel that Charlie has this team headed in the right direction again.
