Yep, even his parents treated him like chopped liver and (surely after he messed up enough times) they cut him off and basically dumped him out of their lives.
The way I see it from his point of view is - If he starts a new life for himself with all that money, he'll forever be reminded of the awful things he did and was associated with whenever he spends that money or enjoys the rich lifestyle. So he figures there's no point. Eventually I predict he'll come to realize that he's never going to forget what's occured with or without the money, and he'll face a crossroads. Either kill himself or try to do the right thing and blow the lid off Walt and the whole operation/history of the operation, along with everything else that's gone down.
So basically turn himself in and give the DEA the whole story, or kill himself. Or both.
