Being risk averse is great when you're winning and you don't need your QB to make any plays.
The rub is, the cupboard is damn near bare in KC. You're gonna need a guy to make something out of nothing. You're going to need a guy that takes risks.
I don't think Smitty is that guy.
But I felt like too many times in the last two years, when we needed Alex to make a play, it just wasn't there. (Obviously not counting the Saints game, he played like a MASTER in that game)

I figured Andy would be demanding that Alex throw the ball deep in the preseason and take some risks. I don't expect him to come out in the regular season and all of a sudden hes Aaron Rodgers, if he isn't even going to try during the pre season. I would be more than willing to stick up for him here if that were the case. But hes not even taking Chances. Same ol dump downs. I think its just who he is. Jamaal Charles is going to have 1500 yards rushing and 90 receptions.
