He's not the first guy to get dealt a shit hand. Especially at his position.
The dude did nothing for 7 years. He was comically bad in stretches, but people still loved him. He got booed on MNF. And people still loved him.
It took him damn near a decade to put up what are essentially rookie numbers. People still loved him. (I know he had a high completion pct and QB rating, I get it.)
A better player emerged and beat him out of his position. People still loved him.
