Watermelon is an underrated fruit.
You know how it's always associated with racist twinges towards black people? The funny part is if racists wanted to impose watermelon-eating on a racial group, it's not black people but Asians who should sport that label. Holy shit. Did you know that in Japan smashing open a watermelon during the summer is a huge hot ****ing deal? Like, you get all the neighborhood together, wish for shit, and then smash it Gallagher-style and everybody eats to celebrate. They love it more than Spanish people love pinatas, and that shit's got candy inside. This is just watermelon. But man, the Japanese are nuts for it. It's a part of the culture. A REAL part of the culture.
And they salt that shit, too. I always found that weird, but it makes it seem more intense. The love of watermelon, that is.
