This sounds a lot like that Roulette board at casinos that shows you the previous winning numbers. Some people think there is a pattern that they can detect from those boards, even though each roll of the ball is a completely separate event and not dependent on previous rolls. I understand that football is slightly more complicated than roulette, but maybe we should narrow our field of vision a few years and only count results from Florida for the last five years or so and not 40. The winning percentage may show the same thing from the past five years, and then I will accept the argument.
