Carl beat him to the line for sure, but the more I look at it the more I give some credence to what NASCAR was using as an explanation.

Eh, idk. Menard looked to speed up in the box and a gap was created and never relinquished between Menard and the car behind him(Martin). A car looking to bunch up cars doesn't put a gap between him and the car behind him.
