Nope, they either go off upon impact, or you're good to go.
On a side note some crazy chick ran into the back of me at a stop light yesterday as well. (yapping on her cell phone and "didn't see me." I have a super duty with a hitch and ball on the back. It didn't do a thing to me, but punched a hole through her front bumper. I just told her to stay off her phone and learn to drive. I never bothered calling the law dogs.
