Hank didn't deserve to die. I was hoping that in the final episode he'd be putting the handcuffs on Walter White, this time for good.
The only good thing about Hank's death scene is that he refused to beg for his life like a cowardly bitch. You know, the way Walt does.

If the show ended with Hank arresting Walt, it would have been the worst ending to such a great show.
