I'm going to call bullshit on this whole story. Why would the 49ers express to anyone that a deal is ESSENTIALLY done. That could completely throw the deal out before it's even finalized. Teams that are working on deals don't like information being leaked...especially by one of the other parties involved. Doesn't make any sense.
