Herm wanted to be a personnel guy originally.
I think he would have done much better there.
As a game day coach there are very few that are worse. I don't know many coaches I can point to several games within each season and simply post a drive summery to show how he snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
The worst was against Tampa Bay... where he called a time-out while they were trying to score late in the game. They had a false start (which is a 10 second run-off) and their offense was clearly feeling the pressure. One KC time out allowed 50 year vet QB Jeff Garcia to draw a play up on the goddamn sideline (no shit) and threw a game tying TD pass. KC didn't touch the ball in OT.
Just... stupid.
