I saw it with 3D. I think 3D really enhanced Smaug to be honest.

I'm going to have to see it again just because Smaug is so goddamn amazing, and will probably go 2D, but I think this was one of those films where 3D really worked.

Also I may have to find a theater showing 48 fps because mine wasn't.
