That seems about right.
It's funny, Pinkel is the kind of guy that does everything ethically, but it's generally the scumbags who get the best guys in college athletics, even though they aren't looking out for the best interests of their players.
It's pretty telling when you see Pinkel's reaction to Gabbert's decision to declare (which couldn't have been more supportive) vs. Pete Carroll's fit when Sanchez declared. Both decisions really hurt the coach's ability to win next year, but Pinkel handled it the classy way.
I have no doubt that the Petrinos and Sabans of the world lay every guilt trip possible on their players in order to get them to stay (and Saban has done it through the media this year).
But, we know where nice guys often finish. That said, I'm not going to bash Pinkel for not being an inveterate scumbag.
