guess so. The wife just went to the Sprint store to have them replace the card, which they did. Seems to be working now. The phone rep from Sprint said that this is a widespread problem that both Sprint and Apple know about.
EDIT: sounds like the problem is prevalent at both AT&T and Verizon as well, according to the forums...
