Thats actually a good sign. I'm assuming its because when they intubate you for the surgery they want an easier path to get the job done, correct? If so, they don't feel rushed and are real comfortable with a successful outcome.
I know it sucks and you can't keep from worrying. Nothing we can say will prevent that. But, trust me, after 9 years of working with some seriously ill patients in hospitals, this is a serious but routine surgery and you will be back on your feet real soon.
