The rule of thumb was you could never put solid wood in the basement because of moisture.
There's solid, click bamboo and solid click handscraped that's able to be used below grade.
There's also a pad out there called Elastilon made specifically for basements or slabs which allows you to put solid wood on a slab or basement.
