You missed a little part of it. Part of the reason they took the ball out of alex smiths hand in 2011, was because of who he had to throw to.

thats why in the offseason between 2011-2012, they signed Mario, Randy, brought in Celek, drafted aj jenkins, and drafted lemichael james. there was a limit of weapons, especially when Josh Morgan got hurt, Braylon became a distraction, and the wr's were Michael Crabs, swain, hastings, and kyle williams.

But your point is a solid one. I will say this. some guys are alex smith, but, then again some guys are Blaine gabbert, Cassel, fitzpatrick, and give the ball away like its a charity.....
