Yeah, I didn't read too much into what Bill said. The landscape changes soooo much over time, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he may not want to be here anymore. I think the probability is that he will retire here, but nothing is set in stone forever.
And yeah, I think that's why most most hawk fans were pissed when Roy bolted. If he'd have treated the whole thing with a little more professionalism it would have been taken better, but he had to turn on the water works and make a big deal about it and looked like an ass when he bolted.

Well I think it was a couple things....He turned them down once before because he had a great recruiting class and he knew there was open windows for being a great team. In the past he's had the one of the best teams in the history of college bball (96-97 team) and didn't win in it. He wanted to give it one last shot and turned down UNC's initial offer. Then after 2003, I think it was one of those things where he knew that if he didn't win it that year w/ Kansas and those guys, that he was never going to win it period and a change of scenery was needed and his Alma mater called him up and it was just time to come home to be w/ friends family and mentors. And really it was the perfect choice. He won himself a couple titles w/ his Alma mater in his home state etc, and Self kicked his ass and won KU a title in 08 and kicked his ass again in '12 for another FF birth.
