Carpenter is a know nothing clown. Pretty sure his knowledge of other sports is what qualifies him for his job. Not bright when it comes to football.
I'm guessing by "people I'm talking to", he means "the closest guy in the bleachers I asked, who doesn't know who I am, nor do I know who he is..." The guy is not connected at all.
