He hasn't been pitching long enough to ignore the peripherals. If he was 34 you might think "well, he's just one of those rare guys who does better than what he's supposed to", but he's just 26. He's risen and fallen on his babip. In 2009 and 2011 he got lucky. In 2010, his babip was roughly about as expected, and in 2012 he was very unlucky.
He's a roughly 4.5 ERA pitcher, not worthless, but he's not winning us many games.
