Not saying you dont want extra muscle at 40. What I found was diet becomes much tougher as metabolism slows down, so its harder and harder to keep weight off, at least in my case. My weight kept climbing even though I was dieting etc.. until I started throwing in fairly moderate cardio on top of diet. Anytime I slacked the weight would come back fairly quick.
I wasn't throwing stones just making an observation. Probably not the best way to say what I was thinking.
When I was younger I was doing everything I could to put on size and weight. Then I started doing all I could to drop weight at about 39.
In the end I ended up dropping about 15lbs and I'm happier being smaller and more tone.
