That's a really good characterization, actually. EDIT: I'm also not quite as harsh on the last episode as you are, Dane. I can at least give it some credit: it dropped some names and faces and it had a sustained level of comedy for the first time, well, probably this season. Whether the comedy was pointless drivel......well......
Ari,
It's not that we demand any deep meanings. I think most people would settle for coherent story lines. It hasn't had them since Season 3 at best. And when it does pick up storylines (See the airport episode last season with Radiohead playing over, or this season's first episode) they barely get touched on OR are over within 10 minutes in the next episode.
Hell, I cannot see why this Andrew-wife storyline is so big when Ari getting offered Studio head was resolved in like 4 minutes screen time.
And at this point, E is not even a man anymore. His storyline is reeruned and unbelievable now. I mean it was at least believable that he could get Sloan. It was possible in a Jim Carrey Dumb and Dumber way but it was possible. His newfound drama is not. No guy would ever do the shit he's done in this season.
Also, what the hell is the point of Lloyd's storyline? (Hint: there isn't one.)
What the hell is Ari's arc? (Hint: there isn't one.)
