I am not a huge fan of the cutter. It has caused problems for a LOT of guys who either can't throw it effectively or whose arm can't handle throwing it.
It also seems to leech some fastball velocity over time.

A pitcher who throws overhead like Wacha is going to need something to get in on lefties and tail away from righties.
He throws a circle change for the opposite effect, but the curve is going to be 12-6.
I could live with him learning a two-seamer and running his four seamer on in the hands of LHB, but I doubt he's going to morph from a two pitch to a five pitch guy. Fastball, curve, change is a good start.
