Yeah, sucks for Varlamov, but Russia got frustrated and completely got away from any kind of team game. The 4 icings at the end of the game perfectly summed it up, trying for the big play over getting the goalie pulled and working for a goal.

Hmm, I thought Canada looked pretty damn good at times... not that they were incredibly impressive before, but it's the best I've seen them up to this point. It easily could have been 5-1 with the number of great chances they had. Latvia was pretty impressive throughout the tournament, considering they don't have the scorers to be a serious threat.

I wasn't so sure about Canada, but I think it'll be the best game of the tournament Friday, even if the US has clearly been the better team overall.

The best 'oh by the way' of the day.... Yzerman drafted Gudļevskis (Latvia's goalie) last year for TB.
