That would actually make it more difficult to spot a tail. The more cars you have to keep an eye on at night the harder it is to know who is doing what. During the day you can actually see the cars around you, at night, it's just headlights, and they all start looking more or less alike pretty quick.
Unless I have a gun with me, I don't think I'd be trying any not so well traveled roads how ever, and probably not even then. Why play try to spot a tail in a deserted area with loved ones involved?
