There was a little bumping after they hit the gas but it looked like it was extremely minor. From the replay it looked like Menard went when he should have. I have gone back and looked at it a couple of times....to be honest it is not really cut and dried that Menard is really trying at all. It looks more like he wasn't really hitting the gas, it looked more like he was trying to bunch up the cars.
Carl beat him to the line for sure, but the more I look at it the more I give some credence to what NASCAR was using as an explanation.
