My wife says she doesn't want some tangible thing from you. She wants to feel special and wanted. She wants romance. You know the things she wants.
Obviously alcohol consumption is a source of contention for her. Consider giving her gift certificates for "dry" events.
I don't know if you attend services with her or not, but gift certificates for attending services would probably be cooler to her than any other Jimmy Johnson item you could possibly find.
