I would never ever trade out of the 1st round totally if I were a GM with only one 1st.

The Chiefs were better served to use the 27 (26, sorry, LOL) than to trade it, UNLESS it was to make a trade with a high 2nd-round team where the Chiefs knew they could still get a player (e.g. if, at 27, they said, "Okay, the Pats want to trade up from 33, and we have seven players on our board we really like, so we'll get ONE of them at 33 regardless).
