Dude, I live out here in the culture. And yes, it is VERY possible to run an operation in this manner. In fact, and I have no knowledge from the creators to back it up, I'm guessing that Pollos was based loosely upon the Alibertos/Fillibertos restaurants of the southwest, which are a known heroin trafficking network.
