The Detroit Lions released mouthy wide receiver Titus Young on Monday after a series of run-ins between the 23-year-old and his superiors.

Young was outspoken -- especially on Twitter -- and, beyond that, the Lions' brass apparently feared possible emotional issues and had reportedly suggested therapy for the receiver. He didn't cooperate and was let go, but not before revealing that he believed himself to be a better receiver than the Texans Calvin Johnson, the NFL's leader in receiving yards each of the past two seasons.
