Of course. Just like there's a difference between rooting for KSU to win, and rooting for them to beat KU. That's never once happened obviously. Unless the KU fan wanted his coach to be fired, in which case I've even seen Mizzou fans rooting for KU to win to get rid of a coach. Quin Snyder, Stull etcetera. Doesn't make em KU fans.


I doubt those Mizzou fans back then were rooting for OU to wax Mizzou each year (at least I wouldn't think they were but you never know). Because come basketball season, they turned into big OU haters.


You are probably too young to remember it but in the 1980s it was my impression that OU was Mizzous biggest basketball rival. Even bigger than Kansas. Sounds unbelievable but that really was the situation back then.
