the Niners didn't dump him because he was great and they 'knew' Kapernick was better....he had only played a single game in the NFL
they dumped his mediocre ass because his ceiling is game manager
they dumped his ass to take a huge gamble on a guy who had played a single game in the NFL
why?
A--->one of them was a known factor whose ceiling is middle-ish
B--->one of them is still pretty much an unknown, but with a higher possible ceiling until he becomes more known....
I'd go with option B if I was building a team, if my goal was to win a superbowl.
