He's also a young prospect and has plenty of time to improve. Heck he only turns 29 later this month.
We have two guys that would be better for this team (I'm not saying they are every day players mind you, just that they'd be better and cheaper) in Falu and Abreu. They are both better fielders with more versatility and better bats. And that doesn't even mention the everyday 2nd baseman at AAA that has been kept in Omaha for some reason all season. I mean the kid only has only batted .329 with an .891 OPS... a .410 OBP... 71 RBI's on top of that.
But we have Getz, and he's here to stay. BTW.. he makes $1 mil this year and will likely have a nice raise this offseason in arbitration.
