Report: Elias Harris Achilles' Injury Not Serious; Only Expected To Miss One Week

Breath deep, Zags. Sophomore forward Elias Harris reportedly got good news after an MRI today: his Achilles' tendon is not torn. The injury won't keep Harris sidelined for long, perhaps as short as one week.
Fox Sports' John Goodman broke the news on Twitter.

A torn Achilles' tendon could've been a devastating injury for both Harris and the Zags. Instead of resting for a week or so, Harris was staring down the barrel of a year-long recovery timetable and the possibility that his play would never be the same.
The week off serves as a benefit in two different ways for Harris. Already dealing with a shoulder injury, it will give Harris the chance to rest and recover from that previous injury. The time off will also serve the primary benefit of allowing his Achilles to recover fully, limiting risk of re-injury.
The news is great for Gonzaga fans who needed something positive after last night's 79-76 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs in Spokane.
The only question left is whether Harris will be able to go when the Zags square-off against Kansas State on Nov. 22.
